Ensemble Pamplemousse presents 6 new and recent musical works emerging from ideas steeped in improvisational practices, creative machine building, hyper-glitch pop, internet video mashups, physical gesture, and the absurdly sublime. From Andrew Greenwald’s delicate new lullaby, to Bryan Jacobs’ chant for three robotic cymbals, to Natacha Diels’ Sad Music for Lonely People [AND MORE!], Pamplemousse’s unique aesthetic mixology brings to life singular ideas passed through the prism of 6 Pamplemoussie minds and hearts.
Composer/performer collective Ensemble Pamplemousse was founded in 2003 to provide a focal point for like-minded creators with a thirst for sonic exploration. The ensemble is a close-knit group of divergent artistic personalities, emergent from training in disparate musical fields. Their collective love for the exquisite in all sonic realms leads the ensemble to persistently discover new vistas of sound at the frayed edges of dissective instrumental performance technique.
This concert is supported by ON Cologne and Quartier am Hafen
